No, lifting weights will not make you bulky. It will not make you manly. But it WILL make you more confident, more empowered and improve your overall health and wellbeing. There are so many benefits of strength training and I’m yet to find any negatives. No matter your age, schedule, gender, or lifestyle you CAN start strength training and begin to reap the benefits.
I believe we are all born into the universe with a calling, something that we are supposed to be doing with our lives and we won’t ever be happy or settled until we are living in this light. Our soul has a purpose, and until we are pursuing this purpose you’ll always have this niggling feeling which won’t go away. Some people are lucky enough to know what this is straight away, others it takes them years and some never trust their own instincts enough to follow their dreams.
Whether you are a morning person or not, establishing a healthy morning routine can set a positive tone for the rest of the day. It will also allow you to create habits which will last your lifetime.
Many people are constantly looking for new motivation to live a healthy active lifestyle. Motivation seems amazing in the moment, but then nowhere to be found the next. It is then when you need to have healthy positive habits that are part of who you are, ingrained within you as an integral component of your life.
The relationship we have with ourselves is the most important and longest relationship you will ever be in– after all it will last your lifetime. By becoming your own best friend, you are allowing yourself to live to your fullest and truest potential. You will accept your flaws, love your body and have a much healthier positive aspect on life, away from negative and destructive mind sets.
We are all born into the universe with a purpose, a calling and a destiny. You may already know what your calling is or you may not. But your soul will not feel settled until it is living in its light. We all have a light wanting to burn brightly inside us. It is the same light that glows through our skin and make us appear radiant when we are unconditionally happy. However, society and those around us are there to throw us off track and challenge us. If we back down to the challenge our inner light will dim and for some, disappear.
This weekend I visited the SFN Expo in Glasgow, a place where thousands of health and fitness enthusiasts gather together to share their love of peanut butter and all things fitness. There was so much going in including Crossfit Competitions, Strongman/ Woman Competitions, Powerlifting, Yoga classes and Les Mills Classes. There was also such a range of amazing speakers hosted on three different stages; the sisterhood stage, the education stage and the main stage.
Self-care is simply about taking good care of YOU. Doing things to improve your mood, make you feel amazing and brighten your day. It could be as simple as running yourself a bath, going for a walk or buying yourself a treat. But self-care is a responsibility, you need to do it to appreciate yourself, love yourself and be happy in your own skin.
The more time you dedicate to taking care of yourself, the stronger the relationship you have with yourself will become. You’ll also find every other relationship you have in your life will benefit too, because you can’t pour from an empty cup. You must take care of yourself first.
Ever heard the saying “Your vibe attracts your tribe?” Well it is completely true! As humans, we are pack animals. We thrive off other people and need other likeminded people for support and encouragement. That’s why it’s so important that the people you have in your life effect you positively and support you no matter what.
