One thing Samui isn’t shy of is gyms, during our trip to Thailand we enjoyed exploring a range of different gyms, some of which are personally the best I have seen anywhere in the world.
Elite gym has 3 gyms on Samui island all of which have brand new weight machines and equipment. Your typical ‘bro’ bodybuilding gym on a large scale with over 5-6 machines for each muscle group, including their own section of ‘ab’ machines which I have never seen anything quite like. Their range of different cable accessories is phenomenal along with their specific glute training machines!
Lamai Fitness is connected to the WMC Fight camp and although small has everything you need for a good training session, including an area for deadlifts and other strength training which most gyms don’t offer. If you like going back to basics with your training this could be the gym for you, and best of all it is only a few strides away from the Wild tribe café where you can enjoy a healthy post work out meal.
The gym with the view! Overlooking Lamai viewpoint is Sky Gym, so if you fancy doing your morning cardio watching the sunrise at the beach then this is the one for you. It has a range of good equipment both weight machines and cardio, but be warned for the many flights of stairs up to the gym before even starting your workout!
Super Muscles Gym
Similar to the Elite gyms, super muscle is filled with brand new weight machines and equipment. Located overlooking Chaweng Lake, this gym would be perfect for the typical bodybuilder, however, lacks any sort of lifting area to do deadlifts or CrossFit training.
All in all, you can’t go 5 minutes without seeing a gym on Koh Samui with it being a popular destination for us fitspo’s. All off which would be suitable to get a good sweaty training session in but these gyms were just some of my favourites.
